Day 9 in the books, 36% of the way through. Still doing fine, no pain or discomfort.  Saw the radiology oncologist yesterday and he's pleased with the progress so far.  He thought the area felt warm, but there were no outward signs of radiation.  Between him and my surgical oncologist I've now been given permission to play golf and go to the gym, as long as I take it slow and easy.  I've been doing my walking on a regular basis, and they said that will help with the tiredness that radiation can bring.

Tonight, I had one more CT scan. When they did the PET scan, they found something on one of my kidneys.  My surgical oncologist was sure it wasn't anything to be concerned about, but they are practicing "take no chances" medicine and checking out everything.  I was back to UCI Orange, 8:15 PM appointment for a CT urogram, another "stick me in a tube and take pictures" procedure. This one was with a contrast dye which produces a warm feeling throughout the urinary tract.

They always ask me before these procedures if there can be a difficulty in finding a vein.  I always tell them my arms are tough but my hand work great.  For a CT scan, they prefer the arms, so that's where the nurse put my IV.  She was only able to find a vein because she used an ultrasound device.  That was a new and interesting experience, especially watching, on the ultrasound screen, the needle in the arm trying to find that vein.  She got it.

Looking forward to Easter weekend.  Cathy and I will be going to Good Friday services tomorrow, and then Resurrection Sunday services on Easter. While I love Christmas, Easter is the most important holiday of the year.  HE LIVES!!!

Matthew 28:5-8

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not her; He has risen, just as He said.  Come and see the place where He lay.  Then go quickly and tell His disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.  There you will see Him.' Now I have told you."  So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Romans 6:4

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.  Do you believe this?"

    YES!

    Happy Easter!!!
