Still waiting for test results from the 29th. I think they go to my oncologist and then I'll hear from her. I had my three-month check-up with the radiation oncologist yesterday and he seemed to think that everything has healed up nicely. The area is a little tough, and a little discolored, but there is no pain and there were no adverse reactions in my leg. He checked for swelling in my right leg, and strength and mobility. He was impressed that I had gotten up to an 18-mile bike ride before my hernia surgery, and that I was walking 10-11,000 steps every day after. He was pleased enough that instead of 3 months, I don't have to see him again for 6 months.
He did see that there was an order for a CT scan from February that never happened, so he suggested I go ahead, and I was able to get an appointment for September 30. That means I will actually go 47 days without a doctor's appointment. There haven't been too many stretches like that during 2025.
Our Fellowship Groups starts up again tonight. It will be great to gather with everyone in our group and catch up on their lives (though we share a lot, so I doubt there is much that is new). We will be going over Sunday's sermon, The Fellowship of the King, which was a lead into restarting our groups. Basically, what does it look like to be in fellowship with each other, in accordance with our relationship with Jesus, being led by the Spirit, and knowing God is in control.
Not much else to share. Next Monday will be the 6th first day of school that I will miss because I'm retired. I've looked at the Ramona roster of teachers and there aren't many left that I worked with, maybe nine. I started the "boomer" exodus, I think. 1 teacher left with me, and I believe another 7 have left since then. One fun stat about this school year, the students in kindergarten my final year are going to be sixth graders this year, promoting to middle school in June.
As it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8...
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
